Do the Political Party’s represent you? Or do they represent the Will of the Establishment?
Curly Haugland, a senior Republican National Committee-person and member of the Republican National Conventions’ Rules Committee stated quite casually that Republican Voters do not matter when it comes down to choosing a candidate. (See video below-start at 2:15 time for quick version)
“The media has created the perception that the voters will decide the nomination,” Curly Haugland said in an interview with CNBC. “That’s the conflict here.”
“The political parties choose their nominees, not the general public, contrary to popular belief,” he added.
Haugland was then asked what is the point of holding Primaries if the party can disregard the will of the voters:
“Then why bother holding the primaries?” the commentator asked.
“That’s a very good question.” Haugland responded to laughter erupting within the panel of commentators.
This Presidential election is forcing the Establishment to show their true colors. Listen to what they say to you. Observe how they treat you. Do they serve the People?
Do we choose our leaders? Or are our leaders presented to us with an illusion of choice?
It is time to start reevaluating The People’s relationship with Political Parties and Government in general.
Just as a parent must communicate to his/her child who the leader is within their relationship, We The People must remind the government of its appropriate role.
Government Is the servant of the People.
